「童年時多夢,常分不清腦中那些光怪陸離的畫面是記憶還是幻覺,直到長大後才發現,這些潛藏在意識底層的片段,真實發生過的是封存琥珀、而我不應該知道的則是幻覺則是夢。」-林羿綺
 
沿承近年對私歷史之於國族意識型態變遷的討論,以及採用降靈手法啟動歷史復魅的編導手法,林羿綺最新的「琥珀之夢」計畫,將目光縮聚於自身作為回憶與失憶載體的狀態,整體則更進一步納入了多樣的媒材展呈,展覽包括一組多頻道錄像裝置《父域安魂曲》、一系列劇照攝影、和採衣冠塚形式的文件裝置,互相傾注、對照著現實、幻夢、與重構之間的種種拉扯。
透過真實事件與虛構場景的編導與場面調度,童年家庭的時境被重新擷取,記憶與遺忘再次輪迴,抵抗命定,完成了一場家族歷史的安魂。宛如一場自我的精神分析,暗示著回憶可能比過往更加真實,而夢則收容了記憶與遺忘,在這記憶與遺忘如洋流般熱切摩娑的交會地帶,類邪典(Cult)能量噴發,倫常與慾望、愛與死、暴力與純真、存在與失落,快速翻攪、碰撞,它們難得頭暈目眩,暫時彼此原諒。
 

About Exhibition
 
“I frequently had dreams during my childhood without being capable of identifying whether those uncanny images were memories or illusions. It wasn’t until I grew up to finally realize those fragments hidden beneath the consciousness were true events sealed in amber, and those I shouldn’t be aware of are illusions and dreams.” – LIN Yi-Chi
 
Inheriting the concern of conversation between personal history and the shifting of ideology of nationality, as well as the directing style of summoning the ghosts of the past from history, Lin’s latest project: “Dream of Amber” focuses on the state of self being a container of memories and the forgotten. The exhibition includes a multi-channel video installation: Requiem for the Realm of Father, a series of photo stills, and a cenotaph-styled installation of documents, with a wider selection of media, the exhibition demonstrates the dialectical process of struggles between the reality, the hallucination, and the reconstruction.

Through direction and mise en scene, the reality and the fictional scenes are intertwined, therefore the context of childhood has been re-captured. By this way, memories and oblivions have been in karma again, which can be seen as the resistance of the destiny, and the requiem for the family. The self-psychoanalysis like “Dream of Amber” suggests that the memory is more realistic than the reality; while dream is the shelter for both memory and the forgotten, which is like the meetings of the warm and cold ocean current, where the so-called “cult” energy sprouts, and blurring the banality of ethics and desire, love and death, violence and pureness, and existence and lost. Through this dizziness, they have temporarily forgiven each other.


林羿綺 Lin Yi-Chi

林羿綺,1986年出生於台北,國立台北藝術大學美術系碩士班複合媒體組畢業,現修讀國立台灣藝術大學電影系碩士班。
主要創作涉足錄像藝術與實驗電影和新媒體表演領域之間。從自身家族記憶出發,進行幼年生長在異質環境經驗的考古。並且透過對於邊緣區域的野史召喚、映證與反思解構,將影像視爲一種降靈媒介,重新編導與建構出超越真實的樣態,進行對於國族、歷史、與家族記憶的復魅與再生產。
 
Born in 1986, Taipei, Taiwan, Lin Yi-Chi graduated with a MFA from Taipei National University of the Arts, and is now studying the M.F.A Program, Department of Motion Picture, National Taiwan University of Arts.
Lin’s creation deals with family memories, and explores the heterotopia experiences of the military dependents’ village where she grew up. By recalling and reflecting the unofficial history of the marginal realms, she reconstructs a state within her work that reveals more realistic narrative through narration and imagination. Therefore, in her video installations and other forms of visual narratives, the childhood memory, the concept of nationality and history are re-enchanted and reproduced.
